Ceramic Red – Organic Ultra Premium First Harvest Extra Virgin Olive Oil | Ladi Biosas
Special Edition Ceramic Red
Organic Premium extra virgin olive oil Ladi Biosas, a masterpiece from whichever angle one sees it… created organically and by hand, with love, passion, expertise and attention to the finest details at every stage of the process. Nikolaides family’s organic olive groves are nestled in the mountainous and untouched parts of Kalamata’s blessed lands in Peloponnese, Greece, and they’ve been part of the family since 1892.
“Ladi” means oil in Greek, and this is a single estate unfiltered monovarietal and organically cultivated ultra-premium extra virgin olive oil made of the regal/king variety of olives, Koroneiki. Every harvest, at an altitude of 600m above sea level amidst junipers, citruses and arbutus trees, the family selects the olives by hand and first cold press them. The result is a superb delicate, bright, fresh and intensively fruity extra virgin olive oil with very low acidity of 0.1-0.2 and with very high content of oleic acid and polyphenols that give it superb health benefits and therapeutic properties.
The organoleptic characteristics show a well-balanced olive oil with medium fruitiness (5.5), bitterness (5) and pungent (4.5). The flavours that emerge are tomato leaves, eucalyptus and a combination of herbaceous and fresh grass taste with a delicate peppery finish. It pairs exceptionally well with fish, meats, vegetables, bread and salads, and it’s ideal for every day use too!
The fine quality of this product doesn’t end there, Ladi Biosas has won numerous design awards for its irresistible Doric style bottles. The ceramic bottles were made by renowned Greek ceramist George Vavatsis and Greece’s most famous painter/etcher Takis Katsoulidis created the font itself, “λάδι βιώσας”.
Did you know that Ladi Biosas is a direct reference to the Epicurean philosophy phrase, “live in obscurity”?
