Malagouzia SV Turtles 2022 Vintage – Alpha Estate, Florina
Alpha Estate is one of Greece’s most renowned wineries and this Single Vineyard Turtles Florina (Northern Greece) Malagouzia 2020 is a delicately aromatic white wine with intense, complex and idiosyncratic profile with ripe peaches and apricots coupled with hints of fresh green bell pepper. A strong and lively nose of grapefruit, nectarine and hints of almond blossom. This richly textured wine is very flavoursome, has superb length, balance and plenty of finesse. Bright and a pleasant long finish!
Malagousia is one of Greece’s indigenous grape varieties and a certain crowd pleaser as its popularity outside its homeland is increasing by the day, the perfect wine to drink this summer and with an exceptional score of 90 points by Robert Parker, The Wine Advocate.
Pairing perfectly with white meats, fish and seafood (especially calamari), pies with greens and herbs, pasta dishes, cheese pies, green salads, white cheeses and it’s, also, perfect to drink as an aperitif.
A wine that is very reminiscent of Viognier, many say it’s a complex and aromatic Pinot Grigio, but whatever the case it may be it will certainly be your go-to wine for all your garden/outdoor entertaining this summer…
